I went ahead and was finally able to test the new layout's version 2 for Safari using my brother's Mac. It was confirmed that the most recent stable release was 6.0.3—at least for the Mac OS version of Safari. I didn't realize that they use different versions for their iOS and iPad, so that's the reasoning for the compatibility fluctuation.

I was finally able to test the Safari browser using my brother's iPad. His confirmed version was 6.1.3, regardless of my research on Wikipedia and Google indicating that the most recent version out on the iOS and Mac is 6.0.1. I'm not sure if this was due to Wikipedia not updating their page yet or what, but I'm going to go ahead and assume that 6.1.3 is the latest stable release for Safari.

Although some of the text was rendered in different areas across the screen, there should be nothing indicating invalid markup, or otherwise a breaking of the layout's general display. I will continue to ask my brother from time to time to use his iPad or Mac computer to further test Safari browsers passed the haulted 5.1.7 version for Windows.

I recently learned that Safari is now up to version 6.0, but that it's only for Mac users who have Lion and Mountain Lion, and Windows users cannot upgrade. I currently do not own a Mac, so I have no way of testing things out personally. This site's compatibility for Safari will remain at 5.1.7 until I can fully confirm its compatibility for higher versions.
