Ending Thoughts:
I think Kira might have stayed in her village for many reasons. If she were to leave, then nothing would be accomplished in her village. Nothing would change, and the same style of living would continue. I think one of the main reasons why she stayed is because she can change their future by threading anything she wants in the Singer's robe (on the shoulders and back). Because she is the "Designer of the Future", she can ultimately change their future by telling her own story on what might happen in the future by her thread-weaving.
She also might have stayed for other reasons. Another being that she wanted to confront Jamison and why he was attacking her father, Christopher. She might ask him how that is relevant to her becoming an 'artist'.
Kira might have also wanted to stay for her friends, Matt, Thomas, and Jo. Perhaps she cannot find it in herself to 'leave them behind'. She may want to take them with her if she can. With Thomas being there for so long working for the Council of Guardians for many years, it's possible that Kira feels bad for him and wants him to have a better life. One without working so vigorously. Poor Jo has to memorize so many songs to become the "Singer of the Future". And what of Matt? He lives with his mother and siblings, but it's no real life for him in the village. It is very dirty, run-down, and just a bad place for him to live. It's possible that Kira would also wants Matt to come with her to that other place. Especially since Matt and Christopher said that they live a better life over there. They have a cleaner, nicer village with tykes that never really cry at all. More of the exact opposite of the place where they all live now.
There are many reasons for why I think Kira would want to stay in the village, instead of going to the place where her father now lives. She feels that she might have duties to finish and an obligation to stick by her friends and help them out. She would change the way people live, this way the same lifestyle would not repeat over and over again with destruction and rebuild. She has even said to her father that she wanted to stay in order to carry out her responsibilities and change their future.
